1. Thermal NEWC 6000 kcal coal closed last night at US $150, up 2.92% (the 2nd highest price since 3.10.23). $150 price is up 3.09% for the week, & 11.61% for the month.
The EU Benchmark Dutch natural gas price last night closed at 39.6 euros, up 1.85%; & down1.77% for the week, but up 20.14% for the month.
The TTF has closed above 40 euros a few times recently- will its upward trend decisively close above 40 euros?

2. For met coal, however, the downward pricing trend is much more negative- the Sept.2024 Contract closed to US $196 2 nights ago, down from $201. Almost certainly, this caused the big SP fall in WHC (& SMR) yesterday.
Last night however, met coal Sept.2024 closed at USA $201 (Future months' contracts are much higher- will they be maintained?).
