In the US Arch resources just released 3rd quarter earnings. The commentry is almost exactly the same as the commentry at the AGM. Dividends up, buyback to happen blah blah blah(got that bit from Gretta). And shareprice up 13%!! The ESG pumpers are suddenly very quiet. Big money can't resist the temptation of all this juice.
WHC are buying back 240million shares. Let's put that into perspective. Let's say BB average price of $15 per share- that's $3.6 bill. Or nearly $70 mil per week. Last quarter we made $1.5bill or $113mill per week based on 13 weeks in the quarter.
So at $15 which is 50% higher than the current share price WHC are still making circa $45mill per week after buybacks!!!
Insane.
