It's not predicting a 1.5°C temperature change though. Its an average of 1.5°C. some places will be warmer than they are today, and some places will be colder.
The proxy measurements you are talking about are becoming more and more accurate and the error bars are becoming smaller and smaller, but I agree, they are not 100% accurate. But I'll take 90% accuracy over 30% accuracy.
Youre right, the sun is the biggest driver of climate on earth. And the predictable milankovitch are easily included into climate models. Solar irradiance and the Earth's temperature show little correlation. As does CO2 levels and the Earth's temperature. But solar irradiance and CO2 together have a very good correlation with the Earth's temperature.
Our atmosphere does a good job at trapping the heat. That's why Venus, which is further from the sun, is warmer than Mercury.
But I agree, this is a thread about a stock. Not a science debate. I'd be happy for another thread be used if people would like to share ideas about climate. But some of the users here which resort to name calling and other insults is just stupid and petty.
