    1.Freezing cold weather is expected in many parts of the USA this week, even extending to parts of the South.

    "Asurge of Arctic air crossing the country behind a cold front is expected to create blizzard conditions in parts of the Plains and Great Lakes region, while a flash freeze could occur from the mid-South to the East Coast, according to the Service".

    2.Freezing cold weather is also expected in many parts of Canada this week, with a few areas possibly approaching -50c.
    People are warned frostbite could occur, if out in the open for 2-3 minutes.

    The coldest temperatures are expected by midweek, when folks could endure temperatures dipping below -30°C, and possibly even to -40°C or below in the overnight hours. Any winds will make temperatures feel even colder.

    These below average cold temperatures will, obviously, place great pressure on both countries heating systems. As heating is overwhelmingly provided by coal, gas, & oil power (renewables are not effective here yet), it is likely the cold weather & increased demand may cause fossil fuels' prices to soon rise.
