BHP announced their Dec Quarterly results. Thermal coal production is up nearly 9 percentage compared to Sept quarter. It is likely that WhC, Yal and NHC may also announce strong production numbers. With elevated coal price during oct to Dec, it is likely that these coal companies will announce very strong results. Tragedy will be that this strong cash generation is likely to be used against them by the politicians to justify the restrictions and may be increased royalty in future. Unfortunately a cash cow and largest export earning sector of Australia is least supported politically and in general.
