1.Yes, you are totally correct.... & they are very worried about power blackouts.

More coal & gas-fired power will be needed for the el nino-created hotter northern summer this year; & colder (cf the average) northern regions of the northern hemisphere in their Dec.2023/24 winter.
The EU, UK, Japan, South Korea etc. gorged themselves on cheap Russian fossil fuels until 5.2.23- but now almost completely banned: where will they get their essential fossil fuels from?


2. More climate scientists (but not necessarily the majority yet- there is much weather etc. data to collect, interpret, & eventually publish) are stating we are probably entering an el nino period, which usually lasts several years.
(With la nina finished, Australia will become drier. Coal production in NSW & Qld. will, therefore, not be diminished for a few years by heavy rains- as they were in 2022. Great for WHC).
