- Vietnam has begun planned nationwide breakouts of up to seven hours in some areas. It is grappling with the effects of rising electrical consumption owing to a severe heat wave, as well as an ongoing drought that has reduced water levels in hydropower reservoirs.
- Demand for electricity in Singapore surged to its highest weekly level since an energy market was established in 2003. The increased usage of air conditioners (my emphases) has been identified as a likely cause".
