Sure, if we were twice the distance away, or twice as close, we would be frozen or burnt alive.

But our orbit is predictable and has been like it has for millions of years. Therefore, the changes in climate over millions of years cannot be attributed to the annual elliptical orbit. Does that make sense or are you too scientifically illiterate to understand that?
