This is the current situation in Australian energy market. Share of renewable during Evening peak is less than 5 percentage. The bulk price is more than 50 cents. This is a reflection of skewed energy market in Australia. This is not beneficial for business, retailer or common person but political environment is not to accept this reality. A energy rich country will be facing expensive power and power shortage in near future and blame will be on coal companies whereas solution is with intelligent and smart use of all form of energy.
Biggest risk for coal companies will remain regulatory risk and higher royalty regime like QLD.
