You are right ''to a large degree'' of course.
If Hormuz is shut few months or more our World goes without 20%+ oil and say roughly 20%+ LNG supply it buys. Add Russian energy restrictions and I think EU &Co will have to fire up everything coal based and seriously start building new powerplants. Scenario never even contemplated.
