NineNews 11.12.23 states that the current COP 28 Summit "is on the verge of complete failure", as the proposed Draft Final Summit Resolution makes NO demands, or even mentions, that fossil fuels must, eventually, be completely phased out.

If this Draft Resolution is unanimously accepted (unlikely, IMO), it would be a major setback for anti-fossil fuel campaigners.
Perhaps this Draft is a realisation that fossil fuels are now, & in the long term future, essential for cheap, reliable BASELOAD power.
And, also, will poor countries ever be able to achieve their much-needed energy security with relatively expensive renewable technologies.
Fossil fuels ain't being phased out soon!
