What is not mentioned here is the Closing the Loop Holes Bill - it is intended to stop the high number of casual employees in the industry and BHP employs approx 40% of it workers as casuals.
Whc has said it will change this and and make them all permanent.
Obviously the unions are happy but not sure how much this will increase costs by - maybe Hags has a better idea but is a cost no one has talked about
