    No.
It appears Federal & State Labour govts. are now more openly acknowledging the HUGE taxes & other royalties fossil fuel exports are delivering to very cash-strapped Fed. & State govts. (who all have MASSIVE debts). And they are also acknowledging that fossil fuels provide Australia with the much-vaunted "Energy Security".

These important "changes?"/public utterances by senior ALP officials bode well for WHC in general; &, in particular, WHC's future, very large Winchester South (adjoins Daunia!) met coal development.

    Examples:

    1. NT Chief Minister, the ALP's E. Lawler, has stated 29.1.24 that the NT govt. is:-

. now reviewing their funding of the Environmental Defenders Office, after the EDO's costly, time-wasting, & obviously confected failed legal Appeal against STO's $5.5b Barossa gas fields (where Japan etc. strongly wanted this LNG, from late 2025 onwards)

. concerned that the Barossa Judge, in her written finding against the EDO & Aboriginal complainants, said they produced court evidence from experts who deliberately"LIED"( my emphasis).

. is concerned at the potential loss, for the NT govt., of the vast tax royalties etc. that Barossa would eventually provide; & that the NT govt relied on these Barossa taxes to fund recurrent NT govt. expenditure (including the huge amounts spent on Aboriginal welfare!).

NT govt to review EDO funding over conduct during Barossa gas project challenge (msn.com)
(Watch the attached video in the link, for Chief Minister's E. Lawler's comments, & exasperation)
These comments suggest that even ALP senior figures now appreciate the huge tax revenues that fossil fuels bring to various State & Fed. govts.; & even they are becoming angry at the Legal warfare being enacted by the EDO etc. against existing & new fossil fuel projects.

    2. Nationals Leader D. Proudfoot has stated that Federal ALP Energy Minister C. Bowen isnowrecognising publicly that Australia needsmoregas supplies.

    Skynew.com 28.1.24 said

"Nationals Leader David Littleproud says Energy Minister Chris Bowen has “finally had an epiphany” that Australia might need “more supply gas”.

"Mr Littleproud said this comes after two years of him “demonising the gas industry”.

The Nationals Leader said the gas industry has “gone overseas” rather than stay in Australia.

“Chris Bowen’s finally had an epiphany that we might need more supply gas after two years of demonising the gas industry who have gone overseas rather than stay here, and realised that we might need some supply,” Mr Littleproud told Sky News Australia.

“Because increased supply reduces prices" (ie good for the Australian public- my words)
