I watch the Tour de France every year. As the choppers follow the race you get to see thousands of rooftops in both tiny villages and large towns and cities.
One thing that stands out is the almost complete lack of solar panels. Granted it took France many decades to get to 85% of electricity produced by Nuclear Power. They also supply electricity to a lot of neighboring countries including Italy.

Throwing your "hands in the air like you just don't care" is great in the lyrics of the song but not when it comes from a Prime Minister - not so useful!

Nuclear will replace coal to a certain extent in many countries but in good 'ole Aussie we have a huge number of competing interests who are able to throw spanners in the works. ZERO Nuclear Plants here is a likely outcome unfortunately.
