Grosvenor has many seams but the problem in my opinion is the seams below what they are mining, especially P1 that is not drained.
This is where the Ch4 is coming from and an undetected Spon Com has caused the ignition - just very lucky the dust didn’t explode.
The heat now being generated would be massive - A GAG jet engine will never put the fire out - will now be bring the dozers in to seal it - will be years before they even think about going back in.
Best for them to now look at South Moranbah
