Borano ..Although your article has strong leanings towards Communalism or Socialism I put this down to a genuine wish to see fare play..., but what's fare to who..and will the players continue to play??
I agree we don't want "a free for all by either side" ..we should remember the return to shareholders must be enough to continually attract new capital for investment..and "unpredictable" blood letting by Unions or Government "May Result "
in new funds going into Investment Alternatives...
You may find the short side of coal beckons in the years to come!!!
Good for trading .. but may well be very bad for the coal industry..
It may well take a few years.. but Killing the Goose that lays the Golden Eggs has been a product of many Socialist and Conservative Governments...Greed is a not uncommon disease!!
Governments rarely learn when enough is enough and when industries do go into decline it's very hard to stop the rot!!!
Once bitten twice shy is not uncommon in many countries where you wouldn't touch that countries bonds or its businesses because of excessive government interference in the past ..As you know it is not uncommon in European History or South American history where Fortunes have been destroyed by too much government debt and its impact on their economies through higher taxation!!!
Yes ..Could the white shoes of Queensland be turning to a Socialist red!!!
Uk may have been a rich country once but most rich people's funds are now held in offshore tax havens and are not available for taxing ..People have learned..Don't trust City Hall"
As we know France has always been a basket case and then the EEC bailed France out with the Euro and German buying of French debt..,That is now in strong decline..,France will soon be technically bankrupt ..irresponsible spending... and Greece ..well you know the situation..Now there are serious schools of thought who believe Germany can no longer do the EEC's heavy lifting and will leave...Europe once more a large basket case and the Euro ..well where will it be if Germany goes back to the Mark!!!
All this caused by irresponsible spending by governments and higher and higher taxation ..,Tax like alcohol can be a slippery slope to disaster...an addiction ...let's hope the Queensland Government behaves sensibly and maintains investors interest in all areas of Mining and remembers Golden eggs don't come if the Goose leaves !!!!
