Grosvenor is a disaster on Many levels - management failed to control and monitor the gas - inspectors did not stop production until gas levels were safe - a contractor workforce afraid to speak out and a union not strong enough to stand up to management. - management should have reduced the wall back to 200m to reduce vol of gas make and more drainage required - this mine was never going to produce 7mil tonnes/yr and a lot of people have blood on their hands for what has happened
