I think the longest continuing fire that still alight today is in the Blue Mountains and has been going for 5000 to 6000 or so years in a coal seam.
If Grosvenor throws in the towel, then some pretty cheap and very local mining kit will become available for Winchester/Duania. Not to mention downwards pressure on costs for skills and trades.
