Simply put time will tell however I find it very unlikely to see prices at $230+ again. China have eased domestic coal prices and Indonesian coal prices which primarily export to China.
Often investors seem to forget that China isn’t entirely reliant in coal being imported.
“China can produce most of the coal it needs. However, it imports coal to supplement domestic supply and to access higher quality coking coal for steelmaking.”
NEWC prices as of late seem to be following European coal producers or perhaps another round of speculation.
