Some positive indicators and news today. The small increase in current account surplus from last qtr was welcome where coal gets a mention by the ABS for a significant contribution (if not the most significant given IO prices of late).
More importantly, the news of expansion of manufacturing in India, Sth Korea and Japan would indicate a potential stabilisation or up tick in prices.
The third positive thing is how the SP has responded today despite futures being down overnight. We all know how this stock typically reacts like a petulant teenager on negative news so todays price action might be a sign the market now considers the company fairly to undervalued and is expecting some upside.
More churn time is needed to provide confidence, but excluding any external shocks, we must be close to a pivot.
