From the limited number of trades, the futures price for Newcastle coal for January 2022 is down to US$151.50 (a drop of US$5.10) while April 2022 is off US$3.25 to US$134.00.
However even with an A$ that rose to US$0.75 - it's lower than that, at US$0.726 or thereabouts as I write - WHC continues to be profitable.
At 2250 AEDT, it was minus 1 in Beijing and a chilly minus 23 in Harbin.
