I think the selling coincided with the announcement of the largest "coal plant" in Australia due to unviability. Punters don't understand this means nothing for WHC who sell coal into tiny SE Asian countries which a) have huge steel making industries/ energy intensity (Japan, South Korea), no land area for wind or solar and basically no natural resources.
The Australian houses and holes economy with basically no industry and a giant desert and single dwellings with solar roof cover is not representative of WHC customer base - as 300USD thermal coal demonstrates.
