    hindmost,

Your points 1 to 5, 7 are correct and your points 8 and 9 may well be correct.

Re point 6, yes carbon dioxide has been much higher in the earth's history - for much of the earth's history levels were well over 1000ppm. For most of the earth's history temperatures have been 10 degrees higher than they are today. However homo sapiens have only been around for around 200 million years, so obviously the extremely high CO2 levels and temperatures are not a problem for us because we didn't exist. Now that we have significant numbers of people and cities in coastal areas, an increase in sea levels will become problematic.

They are currently at around 400ppm, a 40% increase from the lows seen in 1750, So no, levels are not at all time lows.

The recent increase in CO2 levels has been MUCH faster than generally happened in the past. There have been a few exceptions, such as 252 million years ago there was a rapid rise in CO2 levels due to a series of volcanic eruptions - global temperatures increased by 11 degrees which unfortunately wiped out 95% of all species on earth.

I used to be a climate sceptic, and enjoyed watching Youtube videos put out by climate deniers. At the end of last year I bought a book called Inconvenient Facts — The Science that Al Gore Doesn’t Want You to Know by Gregory Wrightstone.I thought this was great, quoting great facts like you posted in your article and I could then use them in debating climate alarmists. There were a couple of things that bugged me about the book and some further digging found this critique of the book on the web: https://medium.com/@willardm22/its-easy-to-be-tricked-by-a-climate-denier-a87ba4b4a087

This convinced me that climate change could well be a serious problem.

Which I find very annoying as I don't like the Greens and all of their left wing socialist policies. Greta Thunberg really annoys me (I am a middle aged white male and apparently this is not uncommon for us). Unfortunately I have to admit that climate change is a serious issue that needs to be addressed.

Coal is particularly bad when it comes to carbon emmissions and there will be a lot of pressure to ban it completely, but I don't expect this to happen for quite a few years yet.

Yes I do own shares in WHC. Selling my shares to someone else is not going to have any impact on carbon emmissions.

I know this post will annoy a lot of you, but I think it it important to highlight these points.
