A few years, I'd have agreed. But recent events have made unsure.
For example, in California, they are banning new ICE vehicles from 2035. At the same time, they have told current EV owners they shouldn't be charging their EVs because their grid can't handle it. All this in recent weeks. If their current grid can't handle the few EVs they currently have, I won't bet on their grid handling more. So the government is demanding no driving. Have car but can't charge is as good as no car.
I haven't seen much protest, so people are happy to have no car in their near future (or present because they shouldn't charge them).
A few years, I'd have agreed. But recent events have made...
