Simply staggering
Remember, for 21/22 we only averaged US$239 and we are now averaging over US$400.
In 21/22 we repaid $800,000,000 in debt AND bought back shares of $350,000,000. At the same time we paid a 48c dividend. This was on a net profit after tax of $2bn.
So, in 21/23, we could buy back say, $650m in shares and still pay a $1 dividend.
And that is with a NP of $2bn at US$239.
Think mutiples of that at a coal price at plus US$400.
