that's one lesson I've learnt the hard way: hold unless your investment thesis has almost completely played out or its been proven wrong or you've hit a planned point of sale to take capital back out of your investment
Just my approach and not financial advice but it helped me ensure that I learnt from my stuff up of selling afterpay shares at $11 having bought a few bucks cheaper... held the rest until thesis played out and sold the bulk above $125 ... so I left hundreds of thousands on the table by selling just because it was up initially ...
