These are figures for all coal exports not just from WHC (or NHC/YAL), so unlisted exporters are included as well, but in March 2022 the Port of Newcastle exported 10,606.620 tonnes of coal, compared to 9,976,033 tonnes in March 2021.
There were 121 vessel visits in March 2022, up from 111 in March 2021.
However for the three months ending March, total coal exports in the 2022 calendar year thus far have been 35,363,275 tonnes compared to 36,898,798 tonnes in 2021's initial calendar three months.
Total visits by bulk coal ships over the first three months of 2022 were 406 compared to 412 in the first quarter of the 2021 calendar year.
Good Friday and Easter Sunday were or are in April in both years so not much seasonal difference there.
It's pleasing with publicity around coronavirus 'iso' mandatory draconian requirements that the Port was able to increase its throughput in March 2022.
'Hc' contributor hagetaka had a solution proferred a couple of months back for 'iso' along the lines of what NOT to do.
