okay, it's only my understanding about futures maybe completely wrong.
coal index in fact didn't change much this morning, only because we are entering a new month. May contract was settled couple of days ago I think, if I am not mistaken it was around $410 could be even higher. sudden rise of June contract is basically the continuation of the price of May contract if I explained clearly. and lack of volume too.
basically if you buy a cartoon of milk for $5 yesterday you are not going to get it for just $4 today
I believe that is how it works, some time it shows on the chart a visible gap.
