As I see it acquiring or heavily investing in Syrah Resources offers the United States a rare opportunity to secure a critical mineral, dominate a key node in the industrial & EV battery supply chain, and generate long-term strategic and economic returns, all while directly aligning with federal clean energy and national security goals - that’s If Australian Super doesn’t take it private first mind you. I mean Aus Super could still do that, then sell it to the USA…

However - if Aus Super were to play ball, this is a rare chance for the USA to secure a critical material without starting from scratch - the resource (Balama) is proven, the infrastructure is in place, and the tech is scalable.

A U.S. investment or acquisition would create geopolitical leverage — diversifying away from China and strengthening ties with Africa.

Negotiations behind the scenes could be partly why it’s still in Force Majeure (the USA loans department holds the key to its lifting)… but at the current Market Cap it’s trading at multiples lower than it’s replacement value and the sum of its parts.

    Cheers
