I'm sorry, what?! Australia joined Trump in his misguided trade and tech war against China; it was Australian police who ransacked and searched Chines journalists' homes and banned Huawei, and the list goes on and on. There's such a childish victim mentality by some who are surprised at the Chinese response to Australia's actions, as if Morrison was some sort of innocent lamb with gumdrop smiles who wanted love and peace on earth, kumbaya.
Way i see it, is that Australian society is wedded to the idea of fighting america's wars because australians have yet to experience the pain of a real depression-think 80s "the recession we had to have"-where crime was also out of control.
First lobsters, barley, wine and now beef. Sooner or later that list is going to include the nerve centre of Australia's economy: education and the resources sector, particularly coal and eventually iron ore. Someone in Canberra better be going through the 14 point list and preparing to fulfil each and every single one of them cuz China aint gonna let up, and the yanks aren't going to come and help.
