You know who is making those chicken fan motors? Or the magnets for those motors? Probably the Chinese. With respect "couple of small PMM innovators": keep up the pro bono relief work, but as far as Lynas-relevance, investor-relevance, not even a limp onion on a nothing-burger.
Saying the Chinese don't understand market dynamics is like saying the Swiss don't understand watches.
Not to mention, suggesting that the veracity of your insult is verified by a pause in development of Chinese REE market dominance is pure nonsense, especially as what you call "clumsiness" has in fact provided a new base for yet another surge in Chinese REE-enable industries; witness the surging Chinese wind industry; witness the Chinese acquisition of REE deposits uncovered by their "clumsiness"; witness the consolidation of Chinese REE industry since the "clumsiness"; witness the fact that ROW has largely been in retreat wrt REE as a direct result of what you call "clumsiness" and has poured billions into reducing or eliminating their use. To perceptive observers, it's obviously your categorization of the Chinese REE strategy that is clumsy.
Lynas needs the Chinese EVolution to continue unabated; the ROW is increasingly irrelevant and listless; witness BMW eschewing NdFeB traction motors altogether (temporary exception i3); witness 48VMHs clinging to melting ICE. Puh-leeeze get it going, ROW!
