With regard to a tarnished rep, that's a resounding NO, RELATIVE TO IT"S COMPETITORS.

This is COH's first recall. It was done quickly and professionally. It's main rival has already had FOUR recalls.

Read about a survey done last week about COH by medical professionals in the field, 85% of respondents still favoured COH despite the recall of Nucleus CI500. They said their implants are still the most reliable and the model down from the CI500 is still better than anything else the competition can come up with, and that they still trust COH over rivals.

Obviously a recall isn't good, but some PERSPECTIVE is needed. This will place a drag on earnings in COH's mature markets, but it is important to note that the nucleus CI500 wasn't rolled out yet in emerging markets.

COH is a structural leader in it's market. It has superior products, market share and pricing power, and management have a proven track record. I'm loving this recall, i bought today at 46.30, will BUY more if it get's to $40 or below.
