If war is politics by other means then so are tariffs. They certainly seem to have an instant impact ie. Lowering Australian stock prices. There are no benefits to Australia in Trumpy raising tariffs but certainly a buy opportunity for the market is incoming. Trump is declaring war on Mexico and Canada his reasons do seem reasonable but of course there are side effects and even in a back water like Australia we feel it. Of course Gold above $4500 offsets the downside if one is invested....I have been long since 2005 suits me!
