I think you are 'on the money' regarding the optical-fusing and MPM. This will allow a target's range to be taken into account before firing to ensure, having regard for this and the propellant load selected, that the target will be hit with ?non/less lethal? force.

This is not so with conventional rounds that have a fixed trajectory profile and hit close-in targets with more force than those distant. My own thoughts are that if a round can be 'non/less lethal without trading off range to make absolutely sure it remains ' throughout its profile it's a winner in this day and age.

Like you, I really see the market demand for this.
