    The justification for the deployment of a taser are pretty well defined.
    The individual basically has to be presenting a direct physical threat to one or more of three persons, himself, police or members of the public!

    Aussie police are trained to target the centre body mass and nothing else.
    If an individual is unarmed and is running away from police that is not justification and will be scrutenised strongly.

    In this day and age police are required to justify their actions, and the guidelines for justification are very clear. If he was tasered in the back, was unarmed and was running away then there is a problem.

    But!!!! I do not know the circumstances and there may well be a reason that the use of the taser was justified in this case, all will be revealed in the coronial report.
    No point in speculating until the facts are known.
