Pauljbo470; home solar systems can now interface with other means of storing electricity aside from battery systems.
For example, smart solar systems can interact very efficiently with hot water services to reduce power costs and deploy heating and cooling throughout the home to take maximum advantage of solar generation.
Then there's what the people of Yackandandah are doing - joining together as a community to reduce and even remove the need for power from the grid [like many places in Europe have already done].
Commonsense should inform us of the value of developing a fully connected system which optimises power from all available generation types. Sadly, we need Government to act in the national interest instead of that of offshore coal miners facing major fraud allegations.
