There have been a few stories on land based fish farmers lately, none of them good, latest one being Salmon Evolution thinking about switching to Yellowtail Kingfish. They arent profitable for salmon, but think they will be this year.

Its weird because Salmon is a cold water fish, and Yellowtail is a warm water fish, so the energy costs will be a lot different for the location when switching between them. Seems like a desperate move to me. If land based Yellowtail if financially viable in Norway, it would be more viable in lots of other warmer countries, so they will still get priced out of the market eventually.

A year or so ago there was a lot of money going into land based farmers, i think the writing is on the wall for that now, needs work minus the hype.
