Tassie real-estate market is not that dissimilar to Ireland before their market collapsed.
.Falling population.
.Dysfunctional state Government.
.A huge Public Service which which leaves the Govt, no money to spend on any thing else.
. No major Industry left, the timber industry is on the verge of collapse
. A huge amount of property on the market with little hope of a sale.
.Property values falling quickly in some cases by up to 30%.
.Every one still building spec, homes in the hope of a quick dollar.
. Tassie only survives because of GST hand out from Federal Govt
. With around 50% + of the population on some form of Govt, benefit.
. 29 Local councils 32 different building codes , two tiers of State Govt, all this for 500k population.
. We laugh a Greece we have our own version and ours always has it’s hand out for more .
