Viable Photovoltaic Coating System

Research and development in this field aims at creating state-of-the-art thin film photovoltaic systems that will seamlessly integrate with TSG products. Part of the work focuses on collaborating with DyeSol a company specialising in photovoltaics and further developing their work. A second work stream concentrates on the further development of steel as a substrate for PV systems. In the course of the year 2008-09, a dedicated facility for the development of PV systems based on steel substrates, including a pilot line, was set up on the site of Corus Colors in Shotton. The first coating trials on the pilot line were highly promising.
