Correct, afaik his role has changed at Tata to free up time while he works in advisory role at Syntonic. Syntonic have got as close as you can to Tata without formal take over process.
Tata can steer the ship and undoubtedly keep abreast of competitor interest or squash deals with Landau onboard. With this in mind, Syntonic seem to be hitching their wagon to Tata; and only would affect their own future with other telcos if they knew/arranged something bigger with Tata. If Landau was not onboard, I would look at this as just another telco taking on Syntonic licensing, Landau totally changes things
