I've been watching Tattersalls shareprice fall on the back of equine flu crisis. Its 2007 results were strong-I recall that profit was up 128% on the 2006 financial year (correct me if I am wrong).
I see this as a good buying opportunity equating the time line for financial damage from equine flu to the timeline for the flu itself-eventually resolving itself and conditions returning to normality.
There was also a report that income from gaming machines in August in Victoria was up over 6%.
Gaming/racing industry is a good industry to be in barring these one off events. Buy now, the flu (human or animal) does not last forever.
Bought at $4.02 today. Feel free to crititicise if the sharepirce falls heavily from here.
