Several of the richest beneficiaries of Tattersall's, whose identities have long been a secret, are revealed as the gaming giant prepares for a sharemarket float.
William Adams, the direct descendant of company founder George Adams, has emerged at the top of the list, and will pocket $80 million from the float, a report in the Herald Sun says.
Sydney establishment figure Julien Playoust will pocket $76 million in shares and Tatts' managing director Duncan Fisher will earn up to $4.5 million, the report says.
Others include the Harvey family of Tasmania, Melbourne Cricket Club president David Jones, along with Raymond Hornsby and Peter Kerr.
Mr Adams, Mr Jones, Mr Hornsby and Mr Kerr are awaiting the outcome of Supreme Court proceedings that could alter their reward.
Many of the beneficiaries have used complex corporate structures to hide their identities, the newspaper says.
Tattersall's is set to launch its long-awaited initial public offer in what is expected to be the biggest float on the Australian Stock Exchange this year at $2 billion.
Tattersall's holds one of two gaming machine licences in Victoria, has keno operations in a joint venture with Tabcorp, and operates the lottery in Victoria, the Northern Territory and Tasmania.
It operates about 13,500 poker machines in Victoria.
