    I agree entirely with your premise regarding amounts paid by big Pharma and risks taken for drug development.

    However, we need to be aware that the TAVR while a proven concept is not without mechanical and manufacturing risk.

    Only 11 months ago 37 billion dollar Boston Scientific had to recall its TAVR device from the market and many others like Medtronic.

    So yes the risks are low (comparative to drug development) but as with any mechanical medical device there are always risks until proven otherwise in large clinical trials.
