The time was off putting for a lot of us who held on the last few years but going forward is hardly onerous. The investment required would be far less substantial than the major trying to re invent the wheel that AVR has in place.
I put it down to the major adopting eth attitude that AVR can't make it, so why bother and change the status quo.
