A few important things to note: stent technology is ubiquitous, so many of these valves will look somewhat similar as they are built around the same frame. Second, the Admedus patents are still under examination, so the claims may be watered down before being granted. Lastly, a key differentiation of the Admedus valve is in claim 1 of the first patent; "the valve formed from a single sheet of tissue". That in itself is sufficient to differentiate from any Edwards offering.

I remain convinced that Admedus have a unique valve here.
