I have posted this before. If you fill out the form to transfer your shares to someone (anyone) for a small amount of consideration eg $1 then this is a contract of sale and accepted as transferring the stock therefore can claim the apital loss. I have done this and a leading accountancy in Adelaide firstly instructed me to do this and is in my tax this year. Off market transfer forms available to download. I transferrred my joint holding to the super fund but also could be a transfer to my son daughter etc
