    in fact it is a net loss of tax revenue.

    interesting thought the one concerning what is a "loss" of tax revenue. anything less than 100% tax on everything is a "loss" of tax revenue.

    i think about the $300 that is about to be given away to every household for the electricity give-away........ did the government collect $300 too much in the first place? and then decide to give it back to every house cos they had collected too much tax and had no other use for that money? (like hospitals or schools).... and then spend millions $$ more of tax money to tell us about the tax money it is returning.

    makes me wonder if it would be better if the government just collected less tax in the first place rather than just give out the excess tax it has collected.
