    Irrelevant. Number 1 account RBA is fungible.

    The 2024-2025 Budget is a surplus budget as announced. So more tax collected than the government spent.

    It makes me wonder if it would be better if the government just collected less tax in the first place rather than just give out the excess tax it has collected, and then spend more money advertising that money has been returned.

    Less tax would put more cash into the pockets of tax payers.
