" a private monopoly ►can be◄ worse than a public monopoly"
Indeed, it 'can be'!
The combinations & permutations are doubtlessly boundless, and the turgid anecdotes steeped.
But NEITHER type of monopoly is what I am on about.
Government, is a monopoly in all that it does. It is invariably, by its nature the worst kind, as it is not driven by a non-aligned, detached & impartial pricing mechanism, but by mates with hegemony, & with idealistic plots & grudges. Grudges that have scores to settle, and voter blocks - a debt to repay.
Nor is management by sloth committee the method for pricing. The loudest and brashest voice in the room holds sway, and the nerdiest technocrat holds the reins (& the reign).
To mitigate, government ought be trimmed to the absolute smallest. A necessary evil, and its frightful excess of power to be controlled at all times.
The source of an unending canker of mindless rules & regulation.
