You could take the synical outlook that every post in here is loaded with a self interest agenda but frankly and personally, i am amazed at the openness of some of the well-seasoned investors show the rest of us mum & dad's. Yes, we all do our dilligent research, and mantain a manageable risk profile dont we??? So should things go pear shaped, life as we know it does not end. None the less the big end of town specialises in three things; Identifying opportunities, aggressively pursuing them AND squashing competition by undermining the confidence of lesser informed and financially resourced investors. This forum I beleive empowers us retailers to a level that the insto's loathe. I read in another post that instos steer away from HC darling stocks, and this is the reason - their control is diminished and the playing field is somewhat levelled.

I just wanted to personally aknowledge the many posters here that share their experience and knowledge in informative and articulate posts. I want to also aknowledge all the devils advocates and nervous nellies, since without them we can can overshoot the balance point. As a group we often forget that we can have as significant an influence on the SP as the instos can and by driving the SP too far with a frenzy of bullish sentiment, it can back-fire in our faces as it has of late. I'm changing sentiment to hold, and holding in there for the NYSE float - I don't think the ride's going to smooth out to a steady climb for a while yet.

Speaking of risk profiles, at 70c average SP your loss due to the recent retraction would be 12%, at 80c 27%.. I think the danger comes when the 30% loss is hit, at least that's where I'd begin to feel very nervous.
It would be interesting to know at what percentage loss the average punter would set their stop losses at?
